Ambassadors Tournament Testimonial

11U Kingfisher Tournament | May 10, 2025

Coach Jordan Demeter

We had a fantastic day this past Saturday in Kingfisher, and we Coaches couldn’t be prouder. The boys represented the Ambassador ministry well — not just in how they played, but in their words, actions, and attitudes. This is a special group of young men and ballplayers.

Over the past three Saturday-only tournaments, we’ve also grown closer to several other teams who’ve played alongside us. These relationships have led to some incredible gospel-centered moments, and I want to share a few with you from this weekend.

Game 1: Kingfisher White

We opened the day facing one of the best teams we’ve played all year — Kingfisher White. This was our third time playing them, and though we’ve yet to beat them, our last matchup was only a two-run loss.

This time, they came out strong with six runs in the first inning. Our boys were hit hard early and couldn’t recover offensively, ultimately falling 0-11. It was a tough loss, but even in defeat, the boys showed great character.

After the game, we met at the mound to share the gospel with Kingfisher White. Their players engaged well, and it was a powerful reminder of why we’re here.

Afterward, we challenged our team with three simple goals:

  1. Execute what we’ve learned in practice.

  2. Have fun.

  3. Share the gospel.

Game 2: Kingfisher Blue

Next, we faced Kingfisher Blue — another strong team, though not quite as dominant as their White team.

The Ambassadors came out with fire, scoring two runs in the top of the first. They kept up the intensity, played excellent defense, and added two more runs in the third. Though we ended the game just one run short, it was a huge win for us in every way that matters. The boys bounced back from a tough first game and played with effort, joy, and purpose.

Gospel Moment #1

After Game 2, we gathered at the mound as usual to share the gospel. But before we began, the Kingfisher Blue coach stopped us and asked something I’ve never heard in my four seasons with the Ambassador ministry:

“Would you be okay if I challenged my boys to share your message using the colors? I want to know if they’ve really been hearing it.”

His team had learned the gospel using the Ambassador colors — and they nailed it. It was powerful and incredibly encouraging to see young men sharing the gospel on a baseball field.

Gospel Moment #2

After our post-game talk near the batting cages, another moment confirmed just how much impact this ministry is having. As we encouraged our players for their full effort, great attitudes, and gospel-centered focus — reminding them that the scoreboard doesn’t define us — a 10U coach who had been standing nearby stepped into our circle.

He said, “I don’t want to interrupt, I just love what you’re saying to these boys. I played against the Ambassadors in high school, and I’ll never forget that game. They shared the gospel like you do. I love this ministry. When I saw your jerseys today, I realized it was the same group. Keep it up!”

What a moment. God used that coach to drive home exactly what we were telling our boys: baseball is just the platform — our real purpose is sharing the gospel and representing Christ well. The way we carry ourselves on the field matters.

A Final Word

Parents, the 2025 Ambassador group — players, families, and coaches — has already been used by God in powerful ways. He is worthy of our worship, our obedience, and our best effort. We give Him all the glory.

Thank you for all you’ve invested: verse memorization, conversations about character, intentional choices about how we dress and behave, and the discipleship you’ve supported since February. All of it matters. God is weaving these pieces together to make an eternal impact.

I’m incredibly proud of how these boys have represented the name Ambassador this season — and I hope you are too.
